Endlich ist es wieder soweit – der Haupturlaub des Jahres beginnt!

Die Auswahl des Reiseziels ist mir dieses Jahr wirklich nicht leicht gefallen.
Doch seit der letztjährigen Reise in die Vereinigten Arabischen Emirate (Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Ajman) sehne ich mich wieder nach den omnipräsenten Düften des arabischen Lebens, nach parfümierten Einkaufszentren, den orientalischen Gewürzsouks, der faszinierenden Weite der Wüste und natürlich der ganzjährigen Schönwetter-Garantie.

Etwas Abstand möchte ich dieses Jahr jedoch von der Utopie der Mega-Wolkenkratzer Dubais nehmen und erhoffe mir einen reineren, leiseren Flair Arabiens – back to the roots sozusagen.

Das perfekte Reiseziel schien mir daher der Oman zu sein.
Das Land also, aus welchem Sindbad der Seefahrer, die heiligen drei Könige und der Weihrauch stammen.

So sitze ich nun, zwar müde jedoch voller Vorfreude, am Terminal 1 des Münchner Flughafens und warte auf den Abflug im Airbus A330-200 der Oman Air, die mich in 7 Stunden nach Muscat fliegen wird.

Dort werde ich die Hauptstadt des Landes erkunden und nach drei Tagen, ebenfalls mit Oman Air, in den Süden des Landes weiter reisen – nach Salalah.

Ich freue mich auf spannende 2 Wochen im Oman, auf zahlreiche Geschichten wie aus 1001 Nacht und auf die parfümierten Einkaufszentren 😉

Bleibt während der Reise bei Facebook und Instagram auf dem Laufenden, ich würde mich freuen! 🙂

Finally the day has come – the main holiday begins!

It really wasn´t easy to choose the perfect destination for the main trip this year.
But since last year’s trip to the United Arab Emirates (Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Ajman), I´m longing for the omnipresent scent of Arab life, perfumed shopping-malls, oriental spicesouks, the fascinating expanse of desert and, of course, the year-round good weather guarantee.

However, I want to take distance from the utopia of the mega-skyscrapers in Dubai and hope to see a more quiet and more pure Arabian atmosphere this year – like back to the roots.

The ultimate destination therefore seemed to be the Oman.
The country where Sinbad the Sailor, the Magi and the incense come from.

Because of that, I´m just sitting at Munich Airport, Terminal 1 and wait for the departure of Oman Air Airbus A330-200, which will take me to Muscat in about 7 hours.

In Muscat I will explore the capital city and after three days, I´ll continue my trip with a flight to Salalah, in the very south of the Oman.

I´m looking forward to exciting 2 weeks in the Sultanante of Oman, to many stories of 1001 nights and the perfumed malls, of course 😉

2016 – off to…

Lange, nein viel zu lange ist es still gewesen auf meinem Blog.

Doch mit meinem ersten Beitrag in diesem Jahr teile ich Euch mit, dass ich mich nicht untätig gelangweilt habe.
Ganz im Gegenteil – um ehrlich zu sein, brummt mir noch immer der Kopf. Denn den selbigen habe ich mir wochenlang zerbrochen, als es um die Urlaubsplanung für dieses Jahr ging.

Doch wie lautet das gute alte Sprichwort – „Was lange wärt, wird endlich gut“. Und so ist es auch in meinem Fall.

Wo sollte es nun hingehen? Viele schöne potentielle Ziele schwirrten mir in meinem Kopf umher, doch als ich mir die Destinationen zu meiner Reisezeit näher angeschaut habe, fielen viel zu schnell viel zu viele aus dem Raster.

Was war mir also wichtig… Es sollte ein sicheres Land sein, einen schönen Strand haben, eine spannende Stadt in der Nähe und schönes, warmes Wetter.

Etliche Stunden Internet- und Katalogrecherche und unzählige graue Haare sind vergangen, in denen ich noch immer den unvergesslichen Urlaub in den Vereinigten Arabischen Emiraten . Das warme Meer, die beeindruckende Wüste, die freundlichen Menschen – es war einfach alles perfekt!
Doch nun bin ich überglücklich Euch mitteilen zu können, dass mich mein Haupturlaub in diesem Jahr für 14 Tage in den Oman führt. 🙂

Am Abend des 29. April beginnt die Reise mit einem Direktflug in die Omanische Hauptstadt Muscat. Diese wird knapp drei Tage lang unsicher gemacht. Anschließend setze ich mich wieder in den Flieger und es geht in den Süden des Landes. In Salalah werde ich weitere 12 Tage am Indischen Ozean verbringen und hoffentlich ähnlich schöne Tage verbringen wie in Dubai und Ajman.

DOCH…

… bis es soweit ist, steht noch eine weitere Reise an. Wohin es genau geht möchte ich noch nicht verraten, aber bereits am 27. Februar beginnt ein Städtetrip in eine spannende Stadt in Europa 🙂

Bis es soweit ist, gilt es wieder einmal den Koffer startklar zu machen und alles einzupacken, was man währenddessen braucht.
In den nächsten Tagen werde ich daher meine Packliste vervollständigen und Euch zum Download zur Verfügung stellen 😉

It´s been quiet on my blog for a long time… too long!

But with my first post this year I want you to know that I´ve not been idly.
Quite the contrary – to be honest, my head is still buzzing – because I was busy with with the travel arrangements for this year.

Well, where should it go? Many beautiful destinations were in my head, but when I have compared the destinations to my travel time, too many of them are excreted too fast.

So what was important to me… it should be a safe country, with a beautiful beach, an exciting city and nice, warm weather.

After I´ve spent several hours of Internet and catalog searches and countless gray hair have grown, I often thought about the unforgettable holiday in the United Arab Emirates last year. The warm sea, the stunning desert, the friendly people – everything was perfect!
So now I am very happy to let you know that my main trip this year takes me to the Oman for 14 days. 🙂

The journey starts on April 29th with a direct flight to the Omani capital Muscat.
After three days of exploring this city, I´ll continue the trip with a flight to the south of the country.
In Salalah I´ll spend 12 days at the Indian Ocean and hope that it will be as beautiful as in Dubai and Ajman.

BUT…

…until then, another trip is already booked!
I don´t want to tell the destination in advance, but it already starts on February 27th with an exciting city trip in Europe 🙂

Until then, it´s time to pack the suitcase and remember everything I need during the trip.
Therefore I´ll complete my packing list within the next days and make it available for you to download 😉

Off to Dubai :)

Die zweite Reise des Jahres steht an, genauso wie ich gerade in der Schlange am Gate H24 des Münchner Flughafens.
Sobald das Boarding startet, beginnt für mich eine Reise, die ich bereits seit vielen Jahren realisieren wollte. Nun hat es endlich geklappt und die kommenden 16 Tage werden in der heißen Sonne der Vereinigten Arabischen Emirate verbracht.
Das wohl berühmteste Hotel, das höchste Gebäude der Welt, die größte Shoppingmall unseres Planeten. Die Liste der Rekorde Dubais ließe sich wohl nahezu beliebig fortführen.
Aber natürlich wird auch die Hauptstadt Abu Dhabi besucht. Die dort ansässige Formel-1 Rennstrecke und die größte Moschee der gesamten Emirate werden sicherlich ebenfalls besondere Erlebnisse offenbaren.

„LH 638 is ready for boarding“ heißt es aus den Lautsprechern.
Es geht los.
Dubai, ich freue mich auf Dich!

The second trip of the year begins and I´m standing in line on gate H24 at Munich Airport.
When boarding starts, at the same time a journey starts, I wanted to realize for many years. Finally it became the truth and the next 16 days will be spent in the hot sun of the United Arab Emirates.
The probably most famous hotel, the tallest building in the world, the largest shopping mall on the planet. The records of Dubai could probably be continued almost without limit.
But the capital Abu Dhabi will be visited as well, of course. The resident Formula 1 racetrack and the largest mosque in the entire Emirates will certainly reveal a special experience as well.

„LH 638 is ready for boarding“ is the sound out of the speakers.
The journey begins.
