Although there are only about 200 kilometers between the cities, they´re separated by the up to 4000 meters high Atlas Mountains. Because of this, I decided against a trip of several hours by car for a cheap domestic flight (about 50 €).

Marrakech – Ouarzazate

The 40 minutes flight was operated by Royal Air Maroc in an ATR 72, which has 2-2 seating-rows.
My first flight an a propeller aircraft felt a little more bumpy while takeoff and landing than in a plane with turbine engines.
Due to the short flight time and the Economy Class ticket, no drinks or snacks were served during the flight.
The crew seemed to be stressed and unfortunately there was no smile on the ladies lips.
The flight itself was calm, without turbulences and offered fascinating views of the Atlas Mountains.

 

Ouarzazate – Marrakech

The return flight was also operated by Royal Air Maroc in an ATR 72 and after 40 minutes I arrived in Marrakech.
The flight itself was quiet, but the staff wasn’t very friendly and neither drinks nor snacks were served.
