… Osteuropa! 🙂

Nach bereits drei spannenden Reisen nach Valencia, Muscat und Salalah führt mich die vierte und voraussichtlich letzte Reise des Jahres in das größte Land, das gänzlich in Europa liegt – Anfang Oktober geht es nach Odessa in der Ukraine!

Bereits bei meiner letztjährigen Reise nach Warschau stand fest, dass ich nochmal nach Osteuropa zurück kehren werde. Dass es nun schon 12 Monate später so weit sein wird, verdanke ich neben der vielversprechenden Lage der Südukrainischen Stadt direkt am Schwarzen Meer auch den guten Flugverbindungen und den günstigen Lebenshaltungskosten vor Ort.

Was dort genau auf mich wartet? Keine Ahnung!
Ich lasse mich völlig überraschen und gestalte die Tage dort ganz spontan, da dieser Plan ja bereits in Polen super geklappt hat 🙂

Bis zum Abflug Anfang Oktober sind es noch gut 8 Wochen. Genug Zeit also, um noch etwas mehr über die Stadt zu erfahren.
Du warst schonmal in Odessa oder kannst mir ein paar Tipps geben?

The fourth trip of the year goes to… Eastern Europe 🙂

After already three thrilling trips in 2016 to Valencia, Muscat and Salalah, the fourth and probably the last trip of the year leads me to the largest country which is entirely located in Europe – in October I´ll visit Odessa in the Ukraine!

After I´ve visited Warsaw last year, I knew that I will definitely return to Eastern Europe as soon as possible. It just took one year and in addition to the promising location in the Southern Ukraine directly at the Black Sea, the great flight connections and the low costs of living locally I´ve suddenly booked my flights.

As in Warsaw, I´ve no plan what is waiting for me there exactly.
I let myself completely be surprised and will make the days there spontaneously, as this plan has already worked out great in Poland 🙂

It´s still more than 8 weeks until departure in early October.
Enough time to get more informations about Odessa and the whole Ukraine.
You have already visited Odessa or/and you can give me some informations?
In this case, I´d be very grateful for every comment and every mail!

Alssalam ealaykum! 🙂

An der korrekten Aussprache muss ich wohl noch etwas arbeiten, aber die arabische Begrüßung „Friede sei mit Dir“ habe ich im Oman oft gehört.

Im Sultanat am Indischen Ozean habe ich zwei wunderbare Wochen verbracht und neben der Hauptstadt Muscat genoss ich den Hauptteil meines Aufenthaltes  in der Provinzhauptstadt Salalah im äußersten Süden des Landes.

Du hast Lust auf Sonne, Sommer, Strand und die faszinierende arabische Kultur?

I still have to practice for the correct pronunciation, but I´ve heard the Arabic greeting „Peace may be with you“ pretty often in Oman.

I´ve spent two wonderful weeks in the Sultanate at the Indian Ocean.
Besides the capital Muscat, I´ve spent the main part of my trip in the provincial capital Salalah in the very south of the country.

Schön, schöner, Salalah!

Salalah. Sala-Was? Salalah!

Das ist die Hauptstadt der Provinz Dhofar im Süden des Oman, die Geburtsstadt des Sultans und seit vergangenem Montag auch mein Zuhause. Zumindest für 10 Tage.

Nachdem mit Muscat die Hauptstadt des Sultanats bereits erkundet wurde, steht nun Erholung im Vordergrund. In nur anderthalb Stunden bin ich dank Oman Air erneut sehr komfortabel und schnell im äußersten Süden des Landes angekommen und habe das Vergnügen, das 5-Sterne Resort Rotana Salalah mit All-Inclusive Verpflegung für die nächste Zeit mein temporäres Zuhause nennen zu dürfen.

Die Hotelanlage ist in nur 20 Taximinuten vom Flughafen zu erreichen und bereits die ersten Minuten im Resort bestätigten mich, bei der Buchung alles richtig gemacht zu haben. Mit einem Golf-Cart wurden mein Gepäck und ich in mein Zimmer gebracht, das dank eines nach allen Seiten offenen Balkons uneingeschränkten Meerblick bietet. In diesem Zusammenhang möchte ich dem Rotana Resort für das Zimmer-Upgrade zum Deluxe Room Ocean View ganz herzlich danken!

Der Stil meines Zimmers ist durchweg orientalisch, äußerst stilistischer und luxuriös ausgestattet. Gedeckte Farben sind mit orientalischen Ornamenten kombiniert und sowohl die Fenster mit Blick auf den Indischen Ozean, als auch der große Spiegel im Badezimmer sind im omanischen Stil gestaltet. Dazu noch der Luxus von zwei separat steuerbaren Klimaanlagen, einem geräumigen Badezimmer und einen nach allen Seiten drehbaren, in einem orientalischen Raumtrenner eingefassten Fernseher. Mehr geht nicht!

Ein Meeresausläufer durchzieht das gesamte Resort wunderschön und die Liebe zum Detail wird selbst bei den Mülleimern deutlich – sie sind kleine, als Fort (alte Wehrtürme aus vergangenen Zeiten) gestaltete Türme, die die Verbundenheit der Omanis zu ihrer Vergangenheit ausdrücken sollen. Darüber hinaus sorgen Sie für eine Hotelanlage und einen Strand, die sauberer nicht sein könnten.

Von jenem, mit unzähligen Kokospalmen gesäumten schneeweißen Sandstrand bin ich gerade wieder in mein klimatisiertes Zimmer zurückgekehrt und schon bald werde ich mich beim Abendessen wieder zwischen gegrilltem Fisch, frischen Salaten und leckerem Obstsalat entscheiden müssen.

Ich muss zugeben, mein Leben war definitiv schonmal strssiger..! 🙂

Morgen werde ich mit einem Mietwagen die Gegend rund um Salalah erkunden. Was dabei passiert? Folgt mir auf Facebook und Instagram 🙂


Salalah. Sala-What? Salalah!

This is the capital city of the district of Dhofar in the very south of the Oman, where Sultan  Qaboos was born and I’m living for the next 10 days.

Muscat, the capital city of Oman, was alread visited so now in Salalah it’s time to relax. Within 1,5 hours, Salalah was easily reachable by Oman Air and the next days I’m very happy to live in the 5-star Salalah Rotana Resort!

The hotel is reachable within 20 minutes by taxi from the airport and as soon as I’ve entered the resort, I suddenly noticed that my booking was the perfect decision. My luggage and me were taken to the room with a golf-cart and because of the both-side open balcony the sea view couldn’t be better! A big thank you for the room upgrade to the Deluxe room ocean view, Salalah Rotana Resort!

The room itself is beautifully designed in an Oriental style and very luxurious. Calm colors are combined with Oriental elements and as the windows towards the sea, as the big mirror in the bathroom are designed in Omani-style. Two separate air conditions, a huge bathroom and a big TV – top of the tops!

A part of the sea is beautifully crossing through the entire resort and the love to every detail is even obvious how the waste-cans are designed – they’re small fort-towers and let the Omani history come true. Moreover, they let the entire resort and the beach be very, very clean!

I just came home from this clean beach with its white, sandy beach and the countless coconut-trees and soon I’ll have to choose again between grilled fish, fresh salad and tasty fruit salad.

I have to admit, my life has already been more stressful 😉
